Hawkwind are an English rock band, one of the earliest space rock groups. Their lyrics favour urban and science fiction themes. They are also a noted precursor to punk rock[2] and now are considered a link between the hippie and punk cultures. This BBC documentary is about one of the most influential rock bands, their contribution to synth sounds is huge!

 

These are great documentaries about the two most important musical generators in electronic music: the TB303 and the Amen break. These are a must see for every electronic musician.

In the late 1970s, small pockets of electronic artists including the Human League, Daniel Miller and Cabaret Volatire were inspired by Kraftwerk and JG Ballard and dreamt of the sound of the future against the backdrop of bleak, high-rise Britain.  
 

Krautrock began in West Germany in the early 1970s, combining the passion of rock, the freedom of jazz and the intellectualism of twentieth century classical music. Inspired largely by the Beatles’ experimental moments, German bands formed to create “Kosmische” music.
